It's been too long!!
So, it has been WAY to long since I spent any time on this page, but I want to get back into the habit, I love the idea that my kids can look at this as they grow. So I'm going to start posting here again, and slowly slowly add some of the things I have missed blogging about in the last 2 years!! Wish me luck :)

Nate - Our Gift of God
The day finally arrived, after a long wait to conceive this precious boy, some very swollen feet & a couple of nights in hospital at 7am on the 30th October, 2010, the nurse came in & told me, you better call your husband, your results are in & the doctors want you induced immediately! So I quickly called Shortty & asked him to come in as quickly as he could as I was being induced immediately, I then called Jules & she started getting things sorted so she could come & support us through this amazing thing called birth :)
Within 30 minutes I had a drip in my arm & my water had been broken. I laboured mostly on the fit ball, with my eyes closed, in my own world, I had no real idea of who was around me, in fact, my midwife changed at about 3pm and I had no idea what she looked like until after Nate was born. Not long after 3pm I started to feel as though I could not go on for much longer, and decided that I wanted to know how far dilated I was, I remember thinking that I can't do another 8 hours of this (as that would have been about how long I laboured with Mia for). So I was sitting on the fit ball & had just asked to be check to see how dilated I was, then I started to feel like I was sitting on my babies head, like he was right there, when I stood up to get on the bed to be checked I remember saying 'Don't worry about checking, he's coming, call Mia, where's Mia (because Mia wanted to be at the birth), the Midwife very gently reassured me saying, it's ok honey, you still have quite some time, to which I replied, in what tone I'm not sure, 'No, he's coming, he's here'. I got up on the bed, in the same position I birthed Mia, the midwife did not have to look to closely to realise that 'he' was, in fact here. Shortty was on the phone trying to get Mia to the hospital, he had to hang up very quickly or he was going to miss delivering his baby Boy. I remember trying not to push because I wanted Mia there, but it was impossible, our precious little man entered the world @ 3.48pm & we became a family of 4!!
10 minutes later his very excited little sister arrived, my heart could not have been any more full at that time! Mia cut the cord & was so gentle & loving towards him, my heart swells now just thinking of it. So here he is, out precious little man :-)

Mia checking out her little Bro for the 1st time, 10 minuted old
And the reason this blog is not dated the day of his birth... it took 7 days to name our precious man, Mia ended up deciding for us, choosing Nate from a list of 4 names, so Nate it is, our very precious gift from God!

Fun at the park
A new chapter begins
There is no sound like it, the 1st time you hear your unborn childs heartbeat!! We had the amazing priviledge of this again on yesterday. After 20 long months, and some serious prayer, the time was right & a beautiful baby grows again in my womb, how blessed we feel! We will be 13 weeks on Monday, each week is going so fast, such an exciting time for our family. Mia talks about "her" baby ALL the time, she is so excited, as is Daddy & I. The wait was so worth it to feel this unexplainable joy again. Hmmm... enjoying every moment, soaking it up, the joy of growing a precious life, what a blessing!!

In the dog house??
So when you read the heading i bet you were thinking something different.
One of Mia's favourite places to play at the moment is in Lexi's kennel, especially if Lexi is in there. She puts up with so much our poor dog, but Mia just loves her soo much, I think sometimes Lexi thinks a little too much, but she's always willing to share her kennel, what a good dog. No need for a cubby yet! :-)

Moonlit Sanctuary

What a fun day we had with Auntie Kez & Belle Belle, we visited Moonlit Sanctuary in Pearcedale (thank's Kez), Mia loved feeding the wallaby's. I was so proud of her, she approached them so quietly, holding her hand out with the food, waiting quietly for the wallaby's to approach, then the smile started, I saw it creeping up, until her whole face lit up as the wallaby ate from her hand, what a beautiful image! A beautiful memory. And Belle, how much fun she had, still too young to realise the need for quite, she just ran, oh so excitedly, towards the wallaby's, & away they hopped, but she didn't mind, it was still fun! Thanks Kez & Belle for a great day. XX

Mia's 2nd Birthday - Melbourne Zoo

For Mia's 2nd birthday Shortty & I took the day of work & we heading to Melbourne Zoo, it was a beautiful winters day, no rain, enough sunshine to keep the chills away. We had a great time, Mia loved running from one animal to the next, it was just too exciting. Her favourite animals were the monkeys (you can see her monkey impersonation in the photo's) & elephants. She also loved playing on the seals, but unfortunately the seal exhibit was closed for renovations, oh well, just means we have to go back :-)

Gone Home
My beautiful Grandma went to heaven on Monday, she is finally at rest, spending eternity with her Lord & Saviour! I will forever remember my Grandma for the amazing woman that she was, she was my Gramps backbone, they were nothing without each other, the relationship they shared is something i strive for in my marriage. When i went to say goodbye to Grandma on Sunday night i held her hand, i remember when Grandma & Gramps were still on the farm & Grandma would pull our socks on or off for us & her dry scratchy hands would tickle our feet, how I love those dry scratchy hands, they remind me of so many fun times at the farm, they were hands that new hard work, new the love of the land, new how to make a scones like no other! I pray that my little girls children one day see in my hands all the things i saw in my Grandma's, safety, love, fun, discipline, warmth, peace, security, wisdom, knowledge, i could go on forever i think, she was a lady of such dignity, i did not, do not respect my Grandma because she demanded it, i respect her because she earned it, i don't think anyone could meet my grandma and not respect her, she was a lady of her word, a faithful lady. I will miss her, but i thank God that i will meet her again in heaven one day.

Our Little Bunny

Today we went to a church fete in Mount Martha & they had an animal nursery, by far Mia's favourite part of the day! She love's animals, as you can see in the pictures, she wanted to cuddle & kiss them all! I love the photo in the middle, she was bouncing after the rabbit, it was so cute!! Again, how lucky we are that our children can experience these things!
