Friends...

Rhi came over today, it was so good to see her, we miss her now that she's in Perth. Mia wanted to nurse Bailey, after all, he's a baby & one of Mia's favourite things to do is nurse baby's. However, Bailey is a BIG baby, but Mia was determined, so she had her nurse, as you can see in the photo, i think Bailey was nearly as big as Mia! So we had a fun day chatting & playing with Rhi, Phoebes & Bailey, hopefully they'll come back home soon so we can see them more often!!

City Slickers

Today we headed into the city to see the Myer Christmas windows and have a look around. Weather was hot & sticky, it was a fun day but full of long lines & too many people, we best part was when we sat and played on the banks of the Yarra for 15 minutes, away from the crowds! (I guess I belong in the Suburbs, ideally the country though!)

Photo Please

"Mummy, Mummy, photo", I looked down to see Mia, pulling at my leg, with our camera in her hand, so I asked "Do you want a photo?" She nodded with great enthusiasm, so I took the camera & Mia ran (really ran) to the Christmas tree, where she sat down & said "Ready" and gave me this gorgeous smile. We had been trying to get a photo for over a week, everything in Good time Ii Guess :-) Once Ii had taken the photo Mia ran back to me saying "Look, Look" so I showed her a preview of the photo, which she nodded approvingly to & told me "good", then off she went again to play! She blows my mind sometimes, just way too clever!

Little Drummer Girl

Mia was cast for the role of "Little Drummer Girl" for her 1st play, which was at our Church (Liquid). Big thank you to Nan for sewing the costume for us, didn't she just look devine?!! Was a little shy for the concert but certainly looked the part, and that's all that mattered!

Cup Day

We had a fantastic Cup Day, just hanging out with friends, a simple BBQ, gorgeous weather, lots of chatting, Mia & Isabelle having a great time playing, getting filthy eating watermelon! Oh what fun! I can't wait til there are more kids, i look forward to the day when the little tackers out number the oldies (how funny, i can now be classed as an oldie) Thanks to all those who came! Look forward to doing it again soon as the weather continues to get better.

Mia's 1st Dress Up Day

Today creche had a "Cup Day" theme, we were encouraged to dress up our children (if we wanted) as jocky's or in their "Cup Day" best. I decided a horse costume would be just gorgeous. It was so nice to create a costume for my baby, the 1st of many i am sure! I felt like a real mum, i was worried to begin with, how will i do this, i'm not creative, how can i dress Mia in a way that wont frustrate or annoy her. So here is the outcome, i think it's great, Mia didn't find it annoying, i'm actually a little proud of myself!

Ouch...

Yesterday Mia required her 1st ever bandaid. 16 months & 5 days old, i think we did pretty well to last this long. We not sure what she cut herself on, possible a plastic container, but it certainly bleed a lot. She was very brave, but wasn't too keen on the bandaid. This morning we took the bandaid off & it looked quite yucky, but while playing the flap of skin came off & now it looks not so bad. Mia is still a little confused as to why the tip of her thumb feels a little funny when she bumps it.

Our BIG girl

We'll I am no longer allowed to carry Mia's creche bag for her, she tells me with her eyes "Mum, I'm a big girl now, i can do it myself" She stretched 1 arm out for me to put the bag on then turns around so her other arm can slide through the next strap. It is so exciting, yet so scary, my baby is not a baby anymore, she really is a toddler, able to tell me exactly what she wants, how independant she is (and all those who know her know just how independent that is!). Everyday I am reminded how much i need to cherish each individual moment, each new skill, each old skill that is being replaced, my angel is growing up so fast. I love each new stage, but i also miss the old ones.

Helping...

Today was a BIG day. We helped Dan move lots of timber & i think it was 14 cubic meters of soil. When we started the grass was still very wet & as we don't have any waterproof pants for mia we wrapped her legs in plastic wrap. It was a bit stiff to walk to start with, but did a great job & lasted just long enough for the grass to dry. As you can see in the photo's Mia also did her part in helping move the dirt! Even though it was hard work it was soooo great to share the time with D & S.

Memories

Mia has just started to walk around with her hands behind her back, it reminds me so much of my Gramps, I miss him so much!! Mia never got the chance to meet her Great-Gramps, yet she has a few characteristics that remind me of him. I pray that she will grow to be like her Gramps, he was so loving, patient, kind, gentle, FUN, cheeky, wise, oh he was awesome. He use to walk around with his hands behind his back & his tummy sticking out, we use to think he was so cute, now our little girl does it, & still it is sooo cute!

Friends

Some dear friends of our, C & L came to play today. It is amazing to watch Mia interact with younger children, she is so gentle, suprisingly patient, she is going to make a great big sister one day!! We love the time we get to share with these 2 beautiful people!

Painting

I LOVE being a mum, I LOVE that I have time to do activities with my little angel & I LOVE knowing that we are taking steps to allow me more time to share with Mia as she grows from a bub to a toddler, a toddler to a teenager (i know i missed some steps but it seems that what's she's doing :-) )

Mia had a great time painting yesterday, she especially liked painting her hand!! Thank God for non-toxic paints!!

Too Cute

She just makes me melt inside, i love her so

Scary...

I think she looks a little to comfortable behind that wheel, only 15 years to go!

We had a great day at Bodhi's birthday party. IT alsways seems to be so long between catch ups, we need to get better at MAKING time for friends, becuase if you don't make it then it never will happen!

First Car

Today Mia, Nan & I made Mia's 1st car. She had a create time zooming around, beeping her pretend horn 'beep, beeeep' she would go. "mor, mor" she would ask if we stopped for a breather.

Mia's 1st Birthday!!

What a great day we have had!! Started off with presents, yay. Then Mia's favourite breakfast, bacon & eggs, Daddy wasn't complaining about that either :-)

After breaky we all had a shower & got ready for our day out at Melbourne Aquarium, woohoo. Mia loved it, she loved all the bright colors of the fish, i think the sea dragons were her favourite, & the tunnel where all the fish, stingrays & sharks swim all around you, she was amazed. While at the aquarium Mia thought that seems she was , she would try to fit 1 banana in her mouth at 1 time, it was quite funny, i think she was just trying to rush so she go back inside to see more fish!
When we got back home Nanna Raine dropped in for a visit & to give Mia her present, a new pink bike, Mia was so excited, she loved her bike straight away, she didn't want to hop out, we new immediately this would be a toy that would take some convincing for Mia to have a break from! Mia & Nanna Raine shared some big kisses & cuddles before we had to get ready to leave for netball.

After netball we ended the day with Fish n Chips & Birthday Cake at Gramps with Aunty Dan, Uncle Shane, Auntie Kerry, Isabelle, Brian (Isabelle Grandpa), & Gramps of course. We sang Happy Birthday and Mia blew out her candle, i thought Shortty blew it out & Shortty thought i did, but after reviewing the video evidence it was proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that Mia blew it out herself.

So we had a wonderful day for Mia's 1st Birthday, can't believe our little angel is one already, how time flies!! Bub's we are so blessed to have you in our lives, our little ray of Sunshine, love you this much

Fun Times

Mia had a great time today playing with her Nan (Shortt), she loves it when Nan comes to play, so many fun times, so much attention, so much love, so many SMILES. We don't tell Nan often enough just how much we appreciate it, how thankful we are, I think Mia tells her though, in her big smiles & loads of cuddles & giggles that she has just for Nan.

...Walking...

Wow, our baby girl is walking, it's so amazing, they grow up way to fast, she's been taking steps for about 2 weeks, but she walked across the room last week & now there's no stopping her! She still pulls herself up on things to get started but it wont be long & she wont even need to do that, so independent, so scary, doesn't seem as though she needs her mummy as much any more, her mummy sure still needs her though!! That feeling of love you get from your child, amazing, so warm & tender & unconditional!!

SUNSHINE, YAY!

I thought we would make the most of the little sunshine that we have been having lately & take Mia & the dogs to the park, we had a great time throwing the ball for Roxi & Lexi & playing on the swings & slide. Mia has just started trying to walk, her balance is getting really good. As a mum I just can't get enough of that "I'm SO happy right now, this is SO exciting" smile that Mia get's whenever she is flying (that's swinging for us adults)

Clothes that last generations

We've had a lovely morning, just chillin on the floor in the lounge playing with our bub. A couple of weeks ago we received a dressing gown that Shortty wore when he was a bub & as this morning has been particularly chilly Mia got to wear it for the 1st time. It's pretty special i think being able to hand things down not just from siblings but from generation to generation, it goes to prove nothing beats a good woolen dressing gown! (even 22 years after it was originally made)

Kissin Cousins

We had a great day today just chillin with Dom & Joshua, it's been too long, we will try to make it much sooner between visits this time. I love the conversations Dom & I hold, she understands me, my faith, my frustrations, we appear so different, yet i believe we are so similar. We can talk about our dreams with out fear of judgement or ridicule, we get excited as we chat about our hopes for the future, our hopes to see Gods plan fullfilled in our lives. I truely believe God has placed Dom in our lives for a reason!

Forever Ours

After a horrible experience on the weekend our beautiful dogs will never leave our family again. They are such beautiful souls who love the 3 of us without boundaries or grudges, we could not ask for better dogs. And our precious babe loves them too, she is forever trying to give them kisses & cuddles, they put up with so much!

My Day

What a beautiful day I had today, I was really spoilt by my wonderful husband. I woke up to bacon & eggs for breakfast, yummy yummy. Then we slowly got ready for a day out (to where was a surprise for me), no rushing or having to be anywhere 'on time', it was lovely. So we finally piled into the car and headed off. We ended up at "The Enchanted Garden" a beautiful garden/maze at Arthurs Seat. The weather was not great but we didn't care, we got rugged up & wandered through the gardens & mazes. Mia loved riding on her daddy's shoulders in the maze. There was also amazing sculptures & carvings throughout the gardens. We had a great time. Before we left "The Enchanted Garden" we had a deliciously warm warm hot chocolate, Mia loved the froth! After we left "The Enchanted Garden" we stopped off at Arthurs Seat State Park and strolled around the Seawinds Garden & had a kick of the footy. I could not have asked for a better present than what I got, a lovely day out with my family & no cooking or cleaning, woohoo! Thanks Babe!!

Yummy Muffins

Mia & I baked some banana muffins this morning & Mia got her first experience of licking the beaters, boy did she love it, & i loved watching her try to fit a whole beater in her mouth, contort her tongue to get that bit... just...there...

Precious Moments

This morning Mia was so excited to find her Daddy still in bed when she woke up, she knew it meant that Daddy would be with her all day, yeah. So Mia & I joined Shortty in bed for morning cuddles. I asked Mia for a kiss, which she gave me, then quickly turned to her daddy to give him a kiss also, then back to me. She did this 5 or 6 times, Shortty & I we were in tears of laughter at the end, Mia was squealing in delight, she thought it was such a fun game, and we could have played it for hours.

My Birthday

Today we went to Healsville Sanctuary. I had an awesome day, the weather was great, maybe a little to warm for some. Thank you to everyone who came to celebrate my birthday with me, I can not explain how much I appreciate it!! We especially loved the bird shows, it was amazing how much Mia enjoyed them, she really focused on the birds as they came in to land or flew over her head, she amazes me! I'm looking foward to going back & seeing what we missed this time. Thanks mum for my cake!! What's a birthday without a birthday cake!

Octopus Baby

Today we decided once we got home to not waste the beautiful sunshine & to go to Balnarring for a picnic. Dan & Shane came too. We had such a great time, felt like home as we sat at the park opposite the General Store (our general store!) and ate our fish & chips. Then we headed for a walk on the beach & made Mia into a beautiful Octopus Baby. It had cooled down by this stage but we didn't care & neither did she, when there is love, laughter & friends you are always warm!!

Swimming...

Daddy took Mia to swimming lessons today & didn't she love it, she misses him so much when he is at work, we both do!

Both we're exhausted afterwards though!!
